Conagra Maintenance Supervisor in Henning, Illinois

Job Summary

Reporting to the Maintenace Manager you will support the maintenance department, production lines and affiliated equipment, building and grounds. You will lead a maintenance team and be responsible for schedule work and personnel to meet production demands, maintain the preventative maintenance system and work toward meeting the plants safety and uptime goals.

You will:

  • Plan and schedule work force for use of employees.

  • Monitor the efficiencies of the production lines, paying special attention for maintenance and mechanical trends.

  • Train, motivate and direct employees to follow safe work methods and standard procedures to ensure efficient use of employees.

  • Control departmental overtime and labor costs

  • Compliance to all OSHA safety regulations, standards and plant safety program.

  • Maintain equipment for efficient operation within maintenance budget; operate within the constraint of the union contract

  • Seek continuous improvement in the maintenance department employees and the efficiencies of the production lines.

  • Assume full ownership of predictive and preventive maintenance activities including oil analysis, vibration analysis, engine-compressor analysis, and infrared thermography.

  • Evaluate PM/PDM activities and frequencies to ensure optimum use of workforce and resources in maximizing equipment reliability.

  • Involves all associates in a team concept, keeping personnel safety, food safety and uptime as the top priorities.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical engineering or other technical degree program

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Previous management experience required

  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs and Electronic and Electrical principals.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
